Job summary

Protocol Education is seeking experienced Teaching Assistants and Learning Support Assistants to work in schools across South Shields, with a strong emphasis on SEND, SEMH and behavioural needs.

The role involves supporting pupils in lessons, 1:1 and in small groups, helping access the curriculum and maintain positive behaviour. Competitive daily rate £98–£120, with weekly PAYE payments and ongoing support from a dedicated consultant.

Qualifications

• Qualified or experienced as a Teaching Assistant
• Confident working with children and young people
• Experienced with SEND, SEMH or behaviour
• Patient, consistent and approachable
• Comfortable working as part of a wider team
• Able to remain calm and professional in challenging situations
• Passionate about helping pupils make progress
