Job summary

Protocol Education Limited in South Shields is seeking an experienced 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant to support a pupil with additional needs during school hours.

Role involves 1:1 and small-group support, close collaboration with teachers and a focus on consistency, routine, and personalised learning.

Full-time term-time hours, ASAP start, pay £98–£120 per day, with opportunities for ongoing long-term roles and CPD.

Qualifications

• Requires a recognised TA qualification or strong relevant experience.
• Experience supporting children, including those with SEND, autism, SEMH or complex needs.
• Patient, calm and encouraging with a consistent routine.
• Able to adapt approach to individual needs and work independently when required.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 and small-group support to a pupil.
• Work with the class teacher to access learning.
• Support behaviour, learning engagement and emotional regulation.
