Job summary

Protocol Education are seeking an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant for a role in South Shields. You will provide 1:1 and small-group support, work within lessons, and deliver targeted interventions to help pupils engage and learn.

The ideal candidate has Level 2/3 TA qualifications or equivalent, SEND experience, and a calm, patient approach. You will collaborate with teachers and SEN professionals to support transitions and behaviour, reporting pupil progress.

Qualifications

• Qualified to Level 2/3 TA standard or strong equivalent experience.
• Experienced within SEND or mainstream education.
• Calm, consistent and patient; able to manage challenging situations.
• Strong communicator; reliable and committed to pupils.
• Experience with complex SEND, autism or SEMH beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Providing 1:1 and small-group support.

Location: South Shields
Job Type: Full Time, Term Time Only
Start Date: ASAP
Hours: Monday–Friday, school hours
Pay: £100–£120 per day, depending on experience

Are you an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant looking for a new opportunity in South Shields?

Protocol Education are working with specialist schools and SEND settings looking for confident, caring and experienced TAs to join their teams.

The right person will be able to build positive relationships with pupils while providing consistent support throughout the school day.

You Could Be Supporting Pupils With:

• Autism
• ADHD
• SEMH
• Moderate learning difficulties
• Complex needs
• Communication needs
• Behavioural needs

Your Day Could Include:

• Providing 1:1 and small-group support
• Supporting pupils within lessons

About You

We're looking for someone who is:

• A strong communicator
• Reliable and committed to their pupils

Experience with complex SEND, autism or SEMH would be particularly beneficial.
