Job summary

Protocol Education are looking for qualified and experienced Teaching Assistants to work across primary, secondary and specialist SEND settings in South Shields.

This is a great opportunity for someone who already has experience supporting children and young people and is looking for a new long-term school placement.

Starting ASAP, full-time term-time roles with pay of £98–£120 per day, depending on experience.

Qualifications

• A Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification, or equivalent experience.
• Previous experience working in a school or education setting.
• Patient, reliable and positive approach.
• Good communication and relationship-building skills.
• Confidence supporting pupils with additional needs.
• Genuine commitment to helping children succeed.

Responsibilities

• Supporting pupils within lessons.
• Working 1:1 and in small groups.
• Supporting learning and interventions.
• Encouraging positive behaviour.
• Helping pupils develop independence.
• Working closely with teachers and wider support staff.
• Building strong, trusting relationships with pupils.
