Job summary

Prospero Teaching is seeking a SEND Specialist Tutor to deliver tailored tutoring across Sunderland, supporting learners with SEND in home or community settings. The role includes developing personalized plans, tracking progress, and reporting to families, with opportunities for both part-time and full-time hours.

Role involves one-to-one or small-group sessions, building confidence, teaching life skills, and helping learners access the community.

Qualifications

• SEND experience in educational or therapeutic settings.
• UK classroom teaching experience.
• Creative, patient, and willing to think outside the box.
• Experience with students with SEND including ASD, ADHD, GLD and challenging behaviours.

Responsibilities

• Deliver one-to-one or small group tuition supporting students with SEND, focusing on confidence, life skills, community access, simple cooking, and independence.
• Develop and implement personalized lesson plans addressing learning gaps.
• Monitor student progress and provide regular feedback to students and families.
• Create a supportive learning environment to rebuild confidence in learning.
• Complete daily attendance and weekly reports.
