Job summary

Prospero Teaching is recruiting a SEND Specialist Tutor to deliver 1:1 and small group tuition in the Spennymoor area. You will tailor learning programmes to meet the diverse needs of children and young people with SEND, adapting teaching methods to create inclusive, engaging sessions.

Tutoring is typically 1–15 hours per week, during school hours, with weekly progress reports to track development and ensure continued support for each student.

Qualifications

• UK classroom teaching experience.
• Be creative, patient and willing to think outside of the box.
• Experience working with students with SEND including ASD, ADHD, GLD and challenging behaviour.
• Hold the right to work in the UK.
• DBS certificate (enhanced) or willingness to apply.

Responsibilities

• Deliver 1:1 and small group tuition to students in the Spennymoor area.
• Plan and adapt personalised learning programmes to meet individual needs.
• Complete weekly progress reports and track learner development.
• Create a calm, inclusive learning space to support engagement.
• Record attendance and provide feedback to families.
