Job summary

Teaching Personnel are seeking a caring SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming mainstream secondary school in Leamington Spa, starting ASAP. You will provide 1:1 and small-group support to students with SEN, build relationships, and adapt your approach to meet individual needs.

This full-time, long-term role offers ongoing support from a Teaching Personnel consultant and opportunities for professional development. Immediate start and car/public transport access to Leamington Spa.

Qualifications

• Previous experience working with children or young people.
• Experience supporting children with SEN or additional needs.
• Patient, caring, attentive and approachable demeanor.
• Professional, reliable and trustworthy.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Confident working 1:1 and in small groups.
• Willingness to commit to a full-time role.
• Ability to travel to Leamington Spa by car or public transport.
• GCSE English and Maths (or equivalent).
• Any additional SEN/education/childcare qualifications are highly beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 and small-group support to students with SEN.
• Support students to engage positively with learning and the school environment.
• Build positive relationships with students and staff.
• Adapt approach to meet individual students' needs.
• Encourage confidence, independence and progress.
• Use initiative and professional judgement when supporting students.
• Work closely with teaching staff and the SEN team.
