Job summary

Remedy Education is seeking a patient SEN Teaching Assistant for a Chelmsford school to support pupils with autism, ADHD and complex needs across primary and secondary classes.

You will follow EHCP targets, support communication and emotional regulation, and assist with personal care where needed, in a calm, structured environment. A proactive team player with DBS is preferred for a long-term role.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting children with SEN, including ASD/ADHD.
• Calm, patient and resilient approach.
• Willing to support personal care when required.
• Enhanced DBS on Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).

Responsibilities

• Providing 1:1 and small group support across primary and secondary classes.
• Supporting communication, emotional regulation and engagement in learning.
• Following EHCP targets and individual support plans.
• Assisting with personal care where required.
• Working closely with teachers, SENCOs and external professionals.
• Helping maintain a calm, structured and positive learning environment.
• Encouraging independence, confidence and social development.
