Job summary

Remedy Education in Essex is assisting a well-resourced SEN school in Epping to recruit an enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistant to support pupils with autism, ADHD, and speech/language needs in 1:1 or small-group settings across primary and secondary levels.

You will follow EHCP targets, assist with personal care when required, and collaborate with teachers/SENCOs to maintain a calm, structured learning environment while promoting independence and social development.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting children with SEN, ASD, ADHD or complex needs.
• Calm, patient and resilient approach.
• Experience across primary and secondary age groups.
• Comfortable supporting non-verbal or limited communication pupils.
• Willing to support personal care when needed.
• Strong team player with proactive attitude.
• Enhanced DBS on Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).

Responsibilities

• Providing 1:1 and small group support across primary and secondary classes
• Supporting communication, emotional regulation and engagement in learning
• Following EHCP targets and individual support plans
• Assisting with personal care where required
• Working closely with teachers, SENCOs and external professionals
• Helping maintain a calm, structured and positive learning environment
• Encouraging independence, confidence and social development
