Job summary

Remedy Education in Chelmsford is working with a well-resourced SEN school serving both primary and secondary pupils. They are looking for a patient SEN Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 and small‑group support, help with communication and emotional regulation, and assist with EHCP targets in a calm, structured environment.

The role is full‑time and long‑term with ASAP start, offering ongoing consultant support and potential permanent progression.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting children or young people with SEN, ASD, ADHD or complex needs.
• Calm, patient and resilient approach.
• Able to work across primary and secondary age groups.
• Confident supporting non-verbal or limited communication pupils.

Responsibilities

• Providing 1:1 and small group support across primary and secondary classes
• Supporting communication, emotional regulation and engagement in learning
• Following EHCP targets and individual support plans
• Assisting with personal care where required
• Working closely with teachers, SENCOs and external professionals
• Helping maintain a calm, structured and positive learning environment
• Encouraging independence, confidence and social development
