Job summary

Remedy Education is seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant for a role in Chelmsford, accommodating both primary and secondary pupils with a range of needs. Start ASAP, with options for full-time long-term or part-time placements.

You will work in small groups or 1:1 to support pupils in a well-resourced setting. You should have experience with SEN, autism spectrum and related needs, a calm, patient approach, and be willing to assist with personal care when required.

Qualifications

  • Experience supporting children or young people with SEN, ASD, ADHD or complex needs.
  • Calm, patient and resilient with cross-age flexibility.
  • Willing to support personal care when needed.
  • Enhanced DBS on Update Service (or willingness to obtain).

Responsibilities

  • Providing 1:1 and small group support across primary and secondary classes
  • Supporting communication, emotional regulation and engagement in learning
  • Following EHCP targets and individual support plans
  • Assisting with personal care where required
  • Working closely with teachers, SENCOs and external professionals
  • Helping maintain a calm, structured and positive learning environment
  • Encouraging independence, confidence and social development
