Job summary

Remedy Education is seeking a patient SEN Teaching Assistant for an inclusive school in Epping, working with both primary and secondary pupils. The role involves 1:1 and small-group support, assisting with communication and personal care, and helping pupils progress toward EHCP targets.

You will collaborate with teachers, SENCOs and external professionals to maintain a calm, structured learning environment and to promote independence and social development.

Qualifications

• Experience with SEN, ASD, ADHD or complex needs.
• Calm, patient and resilient.
• Willing to support across primary and secondary ages.
• Comfortable supporting non-verbal pupils.
• Willing to provide personal care when needed.
• Enhanced DBS on Update Service (or willingness to obtain).

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 and small group support across primary and secondary classes.
• Support communication, emotional regulation and engagement in learning.
• Follow EHCP targets and individual support plans.
• Assist with personal care where required.
• Work closely with teachers, SENCOs and external professionals.
• Help maintain a calm, structured and positive learning environment.
• Encourage independence, confidence and social development.
