Job summary

Academics is seeking a Learning Support Assistant for flexible daily supply and short- to long-term placements across The Wirral. The role focuses on supporting pupils with additional learning needs, including EHCPs, in secondary schools.

You will work on targeted 1:1 and small group support, help adapt learning materials, and assist teachers to ensure pupils access the curriculum and thrive in a secondary setting. DBS checks are required, and immediate start is possible.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting pupils with SEN or learning barriers in school, youth work, or care environments.
• Calm demeanor and empathy when working with teenagers.
• Strong listening skills and ability to respond to diverse needs.

Responsibilities

• Provide targeted 1:1 and group support to pupils with additional learning needs.
• Assist teachers by adapting learning materials and reducing barriers to learning.
• Support SEN and inclusion, including students with autism, ADHD, or language needs.
• Build positive relationships to boost student confidence, self-esteem and social development.
