Job summary

Academics is seeking a Teaching Assistant for The Wirral with a September start. The role offers flexible daily supply, short-term and long-term opportunities across supportive secondary schools, fostering inclusive learning environments for students aged 11–16.

Ideal candidates have patience, resilience and the ability to build strong rapport with teenagers. An Enhanced DBS on Update Service is preferred or willingness to apply. Daily rates paid weekly via a simple online timesheet system.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting young people (11–16) in schools, youth clubs, tutoring, or care settings.
• Patience, strong interpersonal skills, resilience and rapport with teenagers.
• DBS on Update Service or willingness to apply.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 or small group support, reinforcing lesson plans and adapting materials.
• Support SEND/inclusion for students with EHCP, ASD, ADHD, SEMH.
• Collaborate with teachers to keep pupils focused and foster an inclusive environment.
• Choose between flexible daily supply or full-time block placements across local schools.
