Job summary

Larwood School's Outreach Service is expanding, and we are seeking an Outreach Support Worker to help support mainstream schools across the Stevenage area, addressing SEMH needs.

You will work one-to-one, with small groups and alongside school staff, delivering targeted strategies, producing reports, and contributing to behaviour support plans while building strong relationships with pupils, families and professionals.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children in SEMH/SEND or mainstream settings.
• Calm, positive and resilient approach.
• Strong interpersonal and behaviour management skills.
• Ability to work flexibly across multiple schools with staff across settings.
• Confident supporting individuals, small groups and whole-class activities.
• Excellent organisational and written communication skills.
• Energetic, enthusiastic and value a good sense of humour.
• Must hold a full clean driving license.

Responsibilities

• Support mainstream schools to meet SEMH needs of pupils.
• Work one-to-one with pupils, with small groups, and with school staff.
• Model effective behaviour management and engagement strategies.
• Deliver targeted interventions to promote social and emotional development.
• Contribute to development and review of behaviour and support plans.
• Build positive relationships with schools, families and external professionals.
• Produce accurate reports and provide clear feedback to stakeholders.
