Job summary

Astro Education Ltd in Manchester and surrounding areas is seeking enthusiastic Teaching Assistants for full-time, long-term roles starting immediately. You will work across partner primary schools to support pupils academically and pastorally.

Responsibilities include 1:1 and small-group support, assisting with phonics, reading and maths, and helping with classroom organisation and behaviour. The role emphasizes inclusive education and safeguarding.

Qualifications

• Passionate about supporting children's learning and wellbeing.
• Able to build strong relationships with pupils.
• Confident supporting children 1:1, in small groups and within the classroom.
• Reliable, proactive and committed to a full-time, long-term position.
• Able to work effectively as part of a team and use initiative.

Responsibilities

• Support the class teacher in delivering engaging lessons.
• Work with pupils 1:1 and in small groups to support learning.
• Support pupils with SEND or additional needs.
• Assist with phonics, reading, writing and maths activities.
• Help pupils develop confidence, independence and positive learning behaviours.
• Assist with classroom organisation and resource preparation.
• Support positive behaviour and effective classroom management.
• Create a safe, inclusive learning environment.
• Monitor pupil engagement and contribute to progress observations.
• Build positive relationships with pupils and staff.
• Collaborate with teachers and wider school staff.
• Support pupils during transitions, breaks and lunchtimes.
