Job summary

Balfour Beatty plc is seeking a dynamic Permit Compliance Coordinator to support the NZT project at Redcar and Cleveland, working with site teams to manage permit to work, hot works, confined space entries and related safety processes.

You will maintain records, review method statements, and ensure timely permit issuance while liaising with senior project staff to resolve issues and keep works on schedule.

Qualifications

• Up-to-date knowledge of industry best practice for construction permits.
• Familiar with Confined spaces, hot work regulations, and underground service detection.
• CSCS card holder.
• Willing to work weekends and night shifts.
• Ability to advise management and escalate issues when needed.

Responsibilities

• Support permit strategy implementation for the project.
• Liaise with permit APs and advise on daily permit tasks.
• Review documentation through site assist.
• Monitor compliance with permit conditions.
• Coordinate with site teams to clarify permit conditions.
• Maintain accurate permit records and close completed permits.
• Provide guidance during planning to avoid last-minute issues.
