Job summary

Vision for Education Ltd is recruiting a dedicated Learning Support Assistant for a Wolverhampton SEN school on a full-time basis. You will provide tailored support to pupils aged 4-19 with SEND, working one-to-one or in small groups to help them access learning and achieve targets.

You will collaborate with teachers and the multidisciplinary team to monitor progress, support emotional development, and create a positive, inclusive learning environment where every child can thrive.

Qualifications

• Have experience working with children or young people with SEND.
• Be patient, empathetic and committed to supporting children with additional needs.
• Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Be able to build strong relationships and act as a positive role model.
• Demonstrate flexibility, resilience and a proactive approach to supporting learning.
• Have genuine passion for helping young people reach their potential.

Responsibilities

• Provide tailored support to pupils on a one-to-one and small group basis.
• Assist the class teacher in delivering creative and engaging lessons that meet individual needs.
• Support pupils with their academic, social, emotional, and behavioural development.
• Help monitor, record, and report pupil progress and achievements.
• Encourage independence, confidence, and positive behaviour.
• Adapt activities and resources to individual needs and abilities.
• Build positive relationships with pupils, staff, parents and carers.
• Support pupils with personal care requirements where necessary.
• Promote safeguarding, wellbeing and inclusion at all times.
