Job summary

TeacherActive is seeking a dedicated Learning Support Assistant to support secondary pupils at a Monmouthshire PRU on a temporary basis until the end of the academic year. The role focuses on pupils with SEMH, behavioural or additional learning needs and involves 1:1 and small-group support alongside teaching and pastoral staff.

You will need experience with challenging behaviour, strong de-escalation skills and the ability to build positive relationships while maintaining a calm, professional

Qualifications

• Experience supporting young people with SEMH or additional learning needs.
• Ability to work in a PRU or alternative provision setting.
• Strong behaviour management and de-escalation skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 and small-group support to pupils.
• Support pupils to re-engage with education and achieve positive outcomes.
• Collaborate with teachers and pastoral staff to manage challenging situations.
