Job summary

TeacherActive is recruiting for a Learning Support Assistant to work in a Cardiff Pupil Referral Unit (PRU). The role is full-time and temporary, starting ASAP and continuing until Christmas.

You will support secondary-aged pupils with additional learning needs, help them engage with lessons and access the curriculum in a structured environment. The successful candidate will have experience with secondary learners, safeguarding knowledge, strong behaviour management and excellent communication

Qualifications

• Experience supporting secondary-aged pupils with additional learning needs and/or challenging behaviour.
• Good understanding of safeguarding and pupil wellbeing.
• Strong behaviour management and communication skills.
• Patient, resilient and adaptable approach.
• Ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff.

Responsibilities

• Support pupils within a secondary-aged class and help them engage with learning.
• Assist with managing pupil behaviour and ensuring access to the curriculum.
• Contribute to maintaining a structured learning environment.
• Support team collaboration with staff and consultants.
