Job summary

TeacherActive is recruiting experienced Secondary PRU Teachers to work within Pupil Referral Units and alternative education settings across Pembrokeshire, supporting pupils with SEMH needs and behavioural challenges. This is a rewarding role for resilient, compassionate educators.

You will deliver engaging, differentiated lessons across the secondary age range, build positive relationships with pupils, and work with pastoral teams to enable progress through restorative approaches and a calm

Qualifications

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
• Previous experience teaching within a PRU, alternative provision, or specialist setting
• Strong behaviour management and de-escalation skills
• Experience supporting pupils with SEMH and challenging behaviour
• Calm, resilient, and adaptable approach
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)

Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging and differentiated lessons across the secondary age range
• Build positive, trusting relationships with pupils
• Support young people with SEMH, behavioural needs, and barriers to learning
• Manage challenging behaviour using positive and restorative approaches
• Create a safe, structured, and inclusive learning environment
• Work closely with pastoral teams and other professionals to support pupil progress
• Encourage resilience, confidence, and positive outcomes for every learner
