Job summary

Midstream (West Lancs.) in Skelmersdale is seeking a Learning & Care Support Assistant to combine care and teaching assistant responsibilities within the SEND sector. You will work with a team, supporting individuals with learning disabilities and additional needs undertaking daytime vocational training and work activities.

Under guidance of qualified staff, you will help learners achieve vocational qualifications, promote independence, and support health, safety and wellbeing.

Responsibilities

• Support, guide, prompt and encourage individuals daily to ensure health, safety and wellbeing.
• Assist with training and assessment of learnt knowledge for nationally recognised qualifications.
• Provide assistance with personal care under guidance of qualified staff.
• Administer prescribed and over-the-counter medication as required and in line with policy.
• Support individuals over lunches and breaks and provide 1:1 support when needed.
• Transport or escort clients to and from home using company vehicles as required.
• Record keeping and contributing toward meetings and reviews.
• Undertake CPD opportunities and carry out any other duties as required.
