Job summary

The Shaw Education Trust is seeking a dedicated Intervention Support Worker for our Lancashire secondary school to provide targeted support to improve learning, wellbeing and attendance. You will deliver one-to-one and small-group interventions, support students facing academic or emotional barriers, and work closely with teachers, SEND and pastoral teams.

The role focuses on helping students access learning, build confidence, and develop positive learning behaviours within a supportive trust

Qualifications

• Deliver targeted one-to-one and small-group interventions to support students' progress and achievement.
• Help students develop confidence, resilience, independence and positive learning behaviours.
• Support students with barriers to learning including academic, social and emotional challenges.

Responsibilities

• Deliver targeted one-to-one and small-group interventions to support students' progress and achievement.
• Support students to develop confidence, resilience, independence and positive learning behaviours.
• Help students overcome barriers to learning, including academic, social and emotional challenges.
• Monitor and record student progress, providing feedback to teachers and relevant colleagues.
• Build positive relationships with students and encourage engagement and a positive attitude towards learning.
• Support students with additional needs to access the curriculum.
• Work with teaching staff, pastoral teams and families to ensure a consistent approach to student support.
• Promote the school's values and safeguarding commitments.
