Job summary

Teaching Personnel Ltd. is seeking an Intervention Support Worker to deliver targeted interventions across English, Maths and Science in Sunderland secondary schools. The role focuses on students falling behind, offering 1:1 and small-group tutoring to help them reach KS4 objectives.

The ideal candidate will have a strong academic background in core subjects, experience of school-based interventions, and be capable of motivating disengaged learners. DBS Update Service is required.

Qualifications

• Degree or equivalent desirable.
• Experience delivering interventions or tutoring in a school setting.
• Patient, structured, and confident working with students who find learning challenging.
• Ability to motivate and re-engage students who have disengaged from academic work.
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service.

Responsibilities

• Deliver targeted academic interventions across core subjects on a 1:1 and small group basis.
• Identify gaps in student knowledge and adapt sessions accordingly.
• Track and monitor student progress and feed back to subject teachers.
• Support students working below age-related expectations across KS3 and KS4.
• Liaise with heads of department and the SENCO for a joined-up approach.
• Uphold safeguarding responsibilities at all times.
