Job summary

Porchlight is seeking a dedicated housing support worker to assist individuals facing homelessness in both accommodation and community settings. You will help clients secure stable housing, build life skills, and foster independence through person-centred support.

Candidates with prior Porchlight accommodation experience are valued, but full training and ongoing support are provided. The role involves a mix of daytime shifts across a rota, with some weekend work, on-site at various locations

Qualifications

• Excellent communication and people skills.
• Experience of working with people in Porchlight Supported accommodation or community settings is desirable but not required as training is provided.
• Understanding of issues faced by homeless or vulnerably housed people.
• Experience helping vulnerable people and supporting them through change.

Responsibilities

• Support people living in Porchlight accommodation and in community settings to find suitable housing.
• Provide ongoing support to help clients manage their future accommodation and life skills.
• Assist clients with rent payments/arrears and budgeting.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues to deliver person-centred support.
