Job summary

Porchlight is seeking an on-site housing officer to maintain safety and quality across our properties and ensure residents have a safe, welcoming home. You will perform regular property checks, ensure health and safety and fire regulations are followed, and carry out void cleans while supporting communal areas to keep environments clean and secure for adults aged 18+.

You will also keep tenancy and licence agreements up-to-date and communicate responsibilities clearly.

Qualifications

• Excellent communication and people skills.

• Excellent organisational skills and accurate record-keeping.
• Full driving licence and car access.
• Understanding of Housing Management duties.

Job description

You will ensure that Porchlight properties are places that people who have been homeless can call home. Our residents (all aged 18+) are better equipped to start the recovery process if they have somewhere safe and welcoming to do so.

You will carry out regular checks of our properties, making sure they are maintained to a good standard and that both health & safety and fire regulations are adhered to. You will also undertake void cleans and support the cleaning and upkeep of communal areas, helping to maintain safe, clean and welcoming environments for residents.

The role is also about ensuring residents’ tenancy and licence agreements are up-to-date and making sure they understand their own responsibilities.

This role requires:

• Good communication and people skills
• The ability to build constructive relationships
• Excellent organisational skills and the ability to record information accurately
• A full driving licence and access to a car (subject to the provisions of the Disability Discrimination Act 1995 and Equality Act 2010).
• A good understanding of Housing Management duties.
