Job summary

Riverside Group in North Shields is seeking a Portfolio Officer to deliver housing services across a patch, managing allocations, lettings and income collection while maintaining customer focus.

You will work with Managed Agents, third parties and Local Authorities to maximise service efficiency, manage budgets and provide clear housing advice, ensuring high standards of customer care across the portfolio.

Qualifications

• Proven track record of delivering high quality customer service, preferably in housing.
• Effective stakeholder management, internal and external, with persuasive ability.
• Excellent verbal and written communication across all levels of the business.
• Experience delivering customer care to complex needs and challenging scenarios.
• Attention to detail and ability to solve difficult problems using IT tools.

Responsibilities

• Deliver housing services to a designated patch, including allocations, lettings and income collection.
• Account for patch profitability and minimise void rent loss while coordinating third parties.
• Collaborate with Managed Agents and Local Authorities to drive service improvements.
• Provide clear, accurate housing advice and signpost where appropriate for progression.
• Brief and influence other teams; manage escalations to Portfolio Manager as needed.
• Maintain strong customer relationships and advocate on behalf of customers.
