Job summary

Hippo is a rapidly growing digital consultancy hiring an Intermediate Full Stack Kotlin Developer to join our multi-disciplinary teams delivering bespoke digital services for public and private sector clients. You will contribute to back-end and full-stack development, collaborating with design, data, product and delivery colleagues to solve complex problems.

You will work in agile squads, building secure, scalable systems and supporting CI/CD pipelines.

Qualifications

• Experience in Kotlin throughout the full software development lifecycle delivering user-centred digital solutions.
• Proven ability to contribute to the delivery of high-quality, robust and scalable solutions.
• Experience building back-end services using Spring Boot and the wider Spring Framework (Spring MVC, Spring Security, REST APIs).
• Familiarity with Microservices design and RESTful API services.
• Knowledge of public cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and DevOps practices, including containerisation (Docker).
• Experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins or Azure DevOps.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to production of user-centred software based on business requirements and following best practice.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues and stakeholders to explore, design, and deliver solutions to client problems.
• Support the design and management of software development and deployment pipelines.
• Communicate and present prototypes, solutions, and progress to internal and external stakeholders in a clear, concise manner.
• Participate in the engineering community and support peers through knowledge sharing.
