Job summary

Bracknell Forest Council is seeking a social worker to join the Family Safeguarding Team. The role focuses on creating safeguarding plans, managing a caseload from child in need to looked-after children, and collaborating with a multi-disciplinary team to keep families safe.

Registration with Social Work England is required. The role operates within the Family Safeguarding Model and may evolve under the Families First programme, with emphasis on motivational interviewing to support family

Qualifications

• Working knowledge of relevant legislation, statutory guidance, policies and thresholds.
• Substantial multi-agency working, co-producing needs-led safety plans with partners, children and families.
• Excellent written and recording skills.
• Producing high-quality assessments and reports within required timescales.

Responsibilities

• Develop safeguarding plans to protect children from harm.
• Manage a caseload of child in need, child protection, care proceedings and looked-after children cases.
• Work with other professionals in a multi-disciplinary team.
• Take part in the team duty system and respond to concerns as they arise.
• Manage time and workload to meet deadlines for visits, reports and other tasks.
• Participate in regular reflective supervision and set clear goals and intervention strategies.
• Keep accurate case records and comply with council policies including data protection and GDPR.
