Bracknell Forest Council is recruiting a Senior Social Worker for its Safeguarding service in Bracknell, Berkshire. The role involves managing complex cases, providing guidance to colleagues, and working with children and families under Child in Need and Child Protection plans.

The post requires substantial post-qualifying experience, knowledge of Working Together and strong communication skills. The position offers reflective supervision, ongoing CPD, and pension scheme support.

Qualifications

• A recognised Social Work qualification and current Social Work England registration.
• Substantial post-qualifying experience in child protection, including complex cases.
• Sound knowledge of Working Together to Safeguard Children and statutory processes.
• Excellent analytical, written and verbal communication skills.

Responsabilités

• Hold a caseload of more complex work and act as a source of practice expertise for the team.
• Support, mentor and co-work with newly qualified and less experienced colleagues.
• Manage a caseload of children subject to Child in Need and Child Protection plans.
• Undertake Section 47 enquiries, assessments and direct work with children and families.
• Prepare reports and present at child protection conferences and core group meetings.
• Work closely with partner agencies to reduce risk and improve outcomes for children.
• Keep children's voices at the centre of all assessment and planning.
