Job summary

Tradewind Recruitment LTD. is seeking an enthusiastic Teacher of Physical Education for an Alternative Provision in East Lancashire with immediate start. You will deliver engaging PE and outdoor sessions to KS3/KS4 students in a SEMH setting.

The role requires QTS or strong coaching background, resilience, and ability to engage disengaged youths; enhanced DBS updates or willingness to process are essential. Temp-to-perm potential exists in a supportive multidisciplinary team.

Qualifications

• QTS or ECT, or strong sports coaching background (e.g., PGCE or sports science degree).
• Experience in AP/PRU or challenging secondary settings desirable.
• High energy, emotional resilience, patience, and ability to engage disengaged youths.
• Enhanced DBS check (Update Service) required or willing to process.

Responsibilities

• Deliver inclusive PE and outdoor activity sessions tailored to pupils with varied abilities.
• Promote positive behaviour using de-escalation and resilience approaches.
• Mentorship and engagement with KS3/KS4 students.
• Track progress and adapt ILPs and curriculum as needed.
• Cross-curricular support for outdoor education and team-building.
