Job summary

Tradewind Recruitment is seeking passionate PE Teachers to work across secondary schools in Middlesbrough. This role welcomes experienced teachers or ECTs looking to build classroom confidence, with immediate start options.

You'll deliver engaging PE lessons, motivate students, and promote a healthy, active lifestyle every day. The role offers flexible patterns and access to a wide network of Middlesbrough schools, plus extensive CPD resources.

Qualifications

  • QTS or QTLS (or strong FE/Coaching experience with PE delivery).
  • Experience teaching PE in a secondary school setting.
  • DBS via Update Service (or willingness to apply).

Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver PE lessons across KS3 and KS4 (KS5 advantageous).
  • Teach a range of sports and physical activities across the curriculum.
  • Lead practical sessions indoors and outdoors.
  • Differentiate activities for all abilities.
  • Assess pupil progress and provide constructive feedback.
  • Promote teamwork, resilience and sportsmanship.
  • Manage behaviour in line with school policies.
  • Collaborate with department staff and pastoral teams.
  • Support extracurricular sports clubs and enrichment as required.

Salary: .78 per day (depending on experience and qualifications)

Tradewind Recruitment is currently seeking passionate, enthusiastic, and skilled PE Teachers to work across a variety of secondary schools throughout Middlesbrough. Whether you're an experienced practitioner or an ECT keen to develop confidence and classroom experience, we'd love to hear from you!

About the Role

As a PE Teacher, your responsibilities may include:

  • Planning and delivering PE lessons across KS3 and KS4 (KS5 advantageous)
  • Teaching a range of sports and physical activities across the curriculum
  • Leading practical sessions both indoors and outdoors

Requirements
  • QTS or QTLS (or strong FE/Coaching experience with relevant PE delivery)
  • Experience teaching PE within a secondary school setting
  • Strong subject knowledge and passion for physical education
  • A proactive, energetic, and adaptable approach
  • A valid DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply for one)
  • Two professional references covering the last 2 years
