Job summary

Tradewind Education is seeking a passionate Male PE Teacher to work at a secondary school in Sheffield on both short-term and long-term opportunities.

You will deliver engaging PE lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, with potential KS5, and inspire students of all abilities to participate in sport and physical activity.

Qualifications

• QTS or equivalent teaching qualification.
• Degree in Physical Education or related subject.
• Experience teaching PE in a secondary school is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging, inclusive and high-quality PE lessons in line with the national curriculum.
• Teach a range of sports and physical activities to students across Key Stages 3 and 4, with potential opportunities to teach Key Stage 5.
• Promote physical fitness, healthy lifestyles, teamwork, resilience and sportsmanship.
• Differentiate lessons to meet the needs of students with varying abilities and learning requirements.
• Maintain high standards of behaviour, discipline and student engagement both in the classroom and during practical activities.
• Assess and monitor student progress, providing constructive feedback to support development.
• Ensure the safety and wellbeing of all students during PE lessons and sporting activities.
• Set up and maintain sports equipment, ensuring facilities are used safely and appropriately.
• Work collaboratively with other members of the PE department and wider school staff.
• Support extracurricular sporting activities, fixtures and school events where required.
• Follow school policies, safeguarding procedures, health and safety guidelines, and professional standards.
