Job summary

Tradewind Recruitment LTD is recruiting a passionate PE Teacher to join a welcoming secondary school in the East Riding of Yorkshire. You will deliver engaging PE lessons across a range of sports, plan suitable activities and assess student progress to support attainment.

The ideal candidate holds QTS or an equivalent qualification, has experience teaching PE in UK secondary schools, and can promote health, teamwork and safeguarding.

Qualifications

• Have Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
• Experience teaching PE within a UK secondary school.
• Demonstrate strong subject knowledge across a variety of sports and physical activities.
• Excellent classroom management and communication skills.
• Be flexible, reliable and available to start ASAP for the duration of the placement.

Responsibilities

• Planning and delivering engaging, inclusive and challenging PE lessons in line with the national curriculum.
• Teaching a range of physical activities and sports, developing students' physical competence, fitness and sporting knowledge.
• Differentiating lessons to meet the needs and abilities of all students, ensuring every learner has the opportunity to succeed.
• Assessing, monitoring and recording student progress, providing constructive feedback to support development.
• Promoting teamwork, sportsmanship, resilience, discipline and respect through physical activity.
• Maintaining high standards of behaviour, ensuring students remain engaged, motivated and focused.
• Ensuring the safety and wellbeing of students during practical lessons, following safeguarding and health and safety procedures.
• Preparing, organising and maintaining sports equipment and facilities.
• Encouraging participation in extracurricular sporting activities, clubs and school teams where required.
• Working collaboratively with colleagues to support the wider school community and contribute to students' personal development.
