About Open Supply Hub

Open Supply Hub (OS Hub) is a free and open data tool mapping retail supply chain facilities worldwide and allocating a unique ID to each. The tool is used by stakeholders across many sectors to eliminate confusion and facilitate collaboration, enable interoperability across systems and tackle the long-standing problem of facility identification. We are built on the principles of open: open data, open communications patterns, openness to ideas and new ways of working. We are a mission-driven organization and respect and value our stakeholders - they make OS Hub what it is: a tool enabling collaboration.

OS Hub is currently at an exciting period in its development and is looking for an Impact Program Manager to contribute to the depth and growth of our organization’s impact. Our ideal candidate is a seasoned manager of remote, international teams and programs.

Job Description & Responsibilities

As a pivotal member of the stakeholder engagement team, this role will manage Open Supply Hub’s global Community Management program, as well as key strategic stakeholder engagement initiatives. The Community Management program is centered on building localized strategies and engagement opportunities around Open Supply Hub data, focused on regions of the world where large amounts of production occur and/or the effects of supply chains are most acutely felt. Reporting to the Director of Stakeholder Engagement, this person will bring expertise and experience in managing global, remote teams, excellent project management skills, and knowledge of global supply chains and supply chain stakeholders. Responsibilities include (percentages are rough estimates of how time will be allocated):

Manager of Key Stakeholder Engagement/Impact Programs (50%)

  • Managing the execution of various programs across the stakeholder engagement team, as assigned. This portion of the role will vary as opportunities arise, but projects/programs could include:
    • Stakeholder feedback/analysis for new feature/dataset development

    • The release of a new feature/dataset

    • Implementation of a funded partnership or impact program

    • Development of a collaborative piece of research or report based off of Open Supply Hub data

    • Org-wide strategic research/analysis efforts

  • Manager of Open Supply Hub Community Manager Program (40%)

Lead execution of the Community Manager program in Open Supply Hub’s three year strategy, including developing, disseminating and managing program key performance indicators (KPIs), goals, and activities.

Manage Community Managers - current team size is 3 individuals. Expectations include regular meetings/touchpoints, feedback sessions, budget & spend management, and recruitment/onboarding as needed/applicable.

Design & ensure collaboration and connection between Community Management team and the rest of the organization & funders.

    In-house strategy and operations (10%)

    • Accounting for day-to-day responsibilities as a member of the OS Hub team, this stream of work would include:
      • Being available to lead/take meetings/calls with stakeholders as needed, including in-person in the team member’s country/region

      • Attending regular team calls to build key relationships and knowledge

      • Maintaining active and complete understanding of OS Hub product and offerings, to be able to support Community Manager team with questions

      • Joining and contributing to full suite of relevant Slack channels (our internal communication platform)

      • Joining relevant strategy conversations to bring community management perspective to larger organization conversations

    • The position is remote, but we ask that the employee be located in the United Kingdom, Portugal or Kenya.

      Our Commitment

OS Hub is committed to creating an inclusive and representative environment and is proud to be an equal opportunity employer. All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, gender, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, national origin, genetics, disability, age, or veteran status.

      The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for a seasoned international NGO program manager, with experience managing international, remote teams and projects. We are especially interested in individuals who have worked on technical programs involving web platforms. In addition, as with all members of the OS Hub team:

You have an interest in the complexity and nuances of global supply chains and are motivated to dig in and understand how open data can be leveraged to combat intractable issues that persist within them - issues like modern day slavery and environmental degradation.

You are excited about OS Hub’s mission, opportunities for growth and potential impact; you are an advocate for the power of open data.

You are open to a pro-feedback, pro-fun, mission-driven and global workplace culture.

Note: many candidates self-select out of applying because they may not meet the experience requirements; however, we encourage all levels of applicants to apply if you have a solid foundation and are willing to learn.

      Must have:

3–5 years in program or project management, ideally for a mission focused technical organization

2–3 years managing international, remote teams, spanning at least two continents

2+ years of experience with stakeholder engagement, especially in contexts involving strategic partnerships, product development, or community engagement

Experience tracking and managing a team’s work to drive to key performance indicators (KPIs)

Passion for engaging with a range of global stakeholders, building and strengthening relationships, understanding user needs and the nuances of stakeholder management

Excellent written and spoken English with strong communication and presentation skills

Proficiency in the use of Google Suite (or similar), Slack (or similar), Monday (or similar) and video conferencing apps

      Nice-to-have:

Knowledge or direct experience with global supply chains (either through fieldwork, research, advocacy, or partnerships) is a strong plus

Scrappy design skills in a platform like Canva, in order to quickly generate presentations or visual assets, as needed

Experience supporting communities in open-source and/or open data technologies

      Benefits & Compensation:

If based and authorized to work in the United Kingdom or Portugal, this full-time employment position offers a base salary range annually, commensurate with experience and location:

      United Kingdom: 40,000 - 45,000 GBP

If based in Kenya, this freelance consultant position utilizes a daily rate taking into account the equivalent of benefits offered to a full-time team member. It offers a fee range based on the following annually, commensurate with experience and location:

      Additionally:

This role has enormous growth potential alongside the growth of the organization across geographies and sectors

Competitive pay, benchmarked against similar roles in the applicant's country paid in local currency

The team is open to flexible working patterns, encouraging team members to work in the most effective way that ensures work gets done efficiently

Remote based role with opportunities to travel to team convenings throughout the year
