Reed Payroll is partnering with a well-established charity in North Somerset to recruit a Payroll Officer. This role sits at the heart of Finance and HR, handling weekly and monthly payrolls and related tasks with a focus on accuracy and compliance.

The role offers flexibility with hours and working patterns, plus opportunities to contribute to process improvements and broader payroll administration, pension schemes, and benefits.

Qualifications

• Previous end-to-end payroll experience.
• Experience preparing payroll journals and reconciliations.
• Strong knowledge of UK payroll legislation and statutory payments.
• Pension administration experience, including auto-enrolment.
• Experience working with salary sacrifice schemes.
• Strong Excel skills and accuracy in payroll processing.
• Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.

Responsibilities

• Processing weekly and monthly payrolls.
• Managing payroll amendments including starters, leavers, salary changes and contractual updates.
• Preparing payroll journals and reconciliations.
• Administering workplace pension schemes and auto-enrolment processes.
• Supporting salary sacrifice arrangements and employee benefits.
• Maintaining accurate payroll records and ensuring compliance with payroll legislation.
• Resolving payroll queries from employees and managers.
• Producing payroll reports and supporting month-end processes.
• Identifying opportunities to improve payroll processes, controls and efficiencies.
• Working with HR and Finance to ensure data accuracy and seamless payroll delivery.
