Job summary

YMCA Fairthorne Group seeks a Supported Housing Manager for YMCA Basingstoke to lead housing operations, support a dedicated team and ensure high-quality, person-centred services for young people and families experiencing homelessness.

You will champion trauma-informed practice, enable residents to access education, training and employment, and work with partner agencies to secure positive outcomes. This role demands compassionate leadership and active involvement with the wider community.

Qualifications

• Experience managing within youth, adult or community-based service.
• Experience supporting people with complex needs.
• Experience leading and developing staff and volunteers.
• Experience working within housing, support or community environments.
• Experience managing challenging situations professionally and positively.
• Experience working with partner agencies and external stakeholders.
• Experience delivering person-centred support that promotes independence.

Responsibilities

• Lead the day-to-day operation of YMCA Basingstoke.
• Line manage, support and develop a team of staff and volunteers.
• Ensure high-quality support planning, assessments and interventions are in place.
• Champion trauma-informed practice, Psychologically Informed Environments and Advantaged Thinking approaches.
• Support residents to access employment, education, training and volunteering opportunities.
• Act as an advocate for members and work closely with partner agencies.
• Develop community-focused activities and opportunities that promote wellbeing and engagement.
• Oversee accommodation allocations, inductions and resident onboarding.
• Lead on anti-social behaviour investigations and welfare concerns.
• Manage service-level complaints and ensure timely resolutions.
• Support rent account management and debt recovery processes.
• Ensure health and safety, compliance and regulatory requirements are met.
• Drive high-quality void management and property turnaround.
• Participate in a duty management rota, including evenings, weekends and bank holidays.
• Work collaboratively with housing management, estates teams and external providers.
