Job summary

Eaton Syalon Ltd in Derby is seeking an experienced HR Advisor to join an established business on an initial three-month temporary contract, with potential for permanency. You will work closely with the Head of HR and an HR Assistant in a hands-on generalist capacity.

The role covers employee relations, policy development, recruitment support, and HR project involvement within a collaborative team. Immediate start is required.

Qualifications

• Hands-on HR generalist experience in a busy environment.
• Strong knowledge of UK employment law and HR policies.
• Experience providing first-line employee relations guidance to managers.
• Ability to write, review and update HR policies and procedures.
• Strong administrative and HR systems skills.

Responsibilities

• Act as first point of contact for general HR queries from employees and managers.
• Provide first-line advice on employee relations matters.
• Support development, review and implementation of HR policies and procedures.
• Review and update the employee handbook for accuracy and compliance.
• Complete HR compliance checks and maintain employee records and HR systems.
• Support recruitment activity, including job adverts and coordinating processes.
• Provide guidance to managers on HR processes and policies.
• Contribute to ongoing HR projects and broader people initiatives.
• Collaborate with Head of HR to ensure smooth daily HR operations.
