Job summary

LGC National Laboratories in the UK is seeking a Researcher (Imaging) in Inorganic analysis to join the NML imaging team. You will work on quantitative LA-ICPMS imaging and single cell analysis, applying advanced MS techniques and developing methods with training provided.

The role combines project management of complex metrology research, method development, data quality, and collaboration with senior scientists.

Qualifications

• PhD or equivalent in chemical/analytical sciences.
• Interest in hyphenated methods for imaging and single cell analysis.
• Training on instruments will be provided.
• Experience with mass spectrometry imaging is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Plan and manage complex metrology R&D projects for imaging and single cell analysis.
• Develop analytical methods for quantitative LA‑ICPMS imaging.
• Maintain records per quality procedures and review colleagues’ work.
• Present findings and train others to share methods and insights.
• Assist in instrument calibration, maintenance, and inventory management.
• Ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.
