Job summary

Your World Healthcare UK is seeking a Specialist Category Manager (Imaging Network) to oversee strategic procurement at Surrey Research Park, Guildford. The role focuses on imaging equipment, services, consumables and related clinical services, directing complex tenders and contract negotiations.

The postholder will develop category strategies, ensure value for money, manage risks and collaborate with clinical, operational and financial stakeholders to deliver innovative procurement solutions

Responsibilities

• Lead complex, high-value procurement projects from strategy and business case through tender, evaluation, award and implementation.
• Develop and implement Imaging category strategies aligned with clinical, operational, financial and transformation priorities.
• Identify opportunities for cost savings, efficiency, service improvement, risk reduction and innovation.
• Lead commercial negotiations and provide expert advice on contracts, terms, incentives, variations and remedies.
• Ensure procurement activity is compliant with legislation, policies and governance requirements.
• Apply whole-life costing and robust financial and non-financial evaluation to achieve best value.
• Develop and manage supplier performance frameworks, KPIs and contract compliance arrangements.
• Lead contract lifecycle management, including renewals, modifications, performance management and enforcement.
• Analyse procurement and spend data to identify savings, efficiencies and cost pressures, and report benefits achieved.
• Manage supplier relationships and maintain strong market intelligence across imaging technologies and services.
• Work closely with clinical, operational, finance, medical physics, infection control and other stakeholders to translate service requirements into effective procurement solutions.
• Lead equipment trials and evaluations, ensuring appropriate safety, governance, indemnity and infection-control requirements are met.
• Prepare reports and recommendations for senior procurement leadership, the Imaging Network Board and Trust Boards.
• Identify and manage commercial, operational and supplier risks.
• Support collaborative procurement opportunities with NHS, public-sector and other partner organisations.
• Contribute to the annual procurement workplan and Cost Improvement Programme.
• Provide guidance, coaching and support to procurement colleagues and lead the development of the team.
