Job summary

Heidelberg Materials UK in Maidenhead is seeking a Financial Accountant (IFRS) to join the Group Financial Accounting team. You will ensure IFRS group reporting and statutory accounts are delivered to a high standard and on time, liaising with auditors and senior stakeholders.

The role covers IFRS reporting, statutory accounting, and technical accounting within a complex multinational group, offering exposure to major reporting, compliance, and governance activities.

Qualifications

• Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or equivalent).
• Strong IFRS and UK statutory accounting knowledge.
• Experience with statutory accounts under FRS 101 and FRS 102.
• Experience working with auditors and managing year-end processes.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong Excel skills and confidence with financial systems.
• Ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Desirable experience with SAP, Tagetik and Caseware.
• Exposure to large corporate or multi-entity environments.
• Experience supporting IFRS implementations.
• Understanding of financial controls and corporate governance.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and submit IFRS reporting using Tagetik.
• Maintain and reconcile corporate ledgers and ensure accuracy.
• Support month-end reporting and deadlines.
• Review board minutes and accounting entries for divs and restructurings.
• Coordinate statutory accounts and assist with Companies House submissions.
• Collaborate with auditors, directors and secretarial teams.
• Support conversions from FRS 102 to FRS 101.
