Job summary

Tower Hamlets Council is seeking an Identity & Data Security Engineer to join the Information Security Team in London. You will own the Microsoft Purview roadmap, monitor governance health, and support phased rollout across the organisation.

The role requires hands-on Purview experience, strong Azure security knowledge, and excellent collaboration skills to drive data governance and security outcomes.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with Microsoft Purview including classification, labelling, DLP, Insider Risk and governance policies.
• Excellent knowledge of Azure security concepts including role assignments, app registrations, managed identities, access governance, and authentication methods.
• Excellent understanding of data governance frameworks and compliance standards.
• Strong communication and collaborative skills for diverse teams.

Responsibilities

• Be the Council’s Subject Matter Expert and Lead for Microsoft Purview and own the roadmap for the product.
• Monitor and report on data governance effectiveness, policy compliance, and data security health.
• Support the organisational rollout of Purview features in structured phases and ensure remediation of configurations.
