Job summary

London Borough of Tower Hamlets is seeking an Identity & Data Security Engineer to join the Information Security Team. You will be the Subject Matter Expert for Microsoft Purview, owning its roadmap and guiding its future development to support data governance and security across the council.

You will monitor governance effectiveness, policy compliance and data security health, and you will lead structured rollout phases to ensure remediations are implemented across existing configurations while

Qualifications

• Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Purview including classification, labelling, DLP, Insider Risk and governance policies.
• Excellent knowledge of Azure security concepts including role assignments, app registrations, managed identities, access governance, and authentication methods.
• Excellent understanding of data governance frameworks and compliance standards.
• Strong communication and collaborative skills, with the ability to work effectively in a diverse community.

About The Role

We are recruiting for an Identity & Data Security Engineer to join our Information Security Team. If you are passionate about identity and data governance, committed to achieving positive outcomes, and bring hands onexperience in this important area, we would love to hear from you.

In this role, you will:

• Be the Council's Subject Matter Expert and Lead for Microsoft Purview. Own the roadmap for the product and make recommendations on its future development and use.

We are looking for someone who can demonstrate:
