Job summary

Specialist Computer Centres PLC are seeking an IDAM Engineer to provide L2/L3 support for a complex enterprise IAM environment, with a strong emphasis on Microsoft Identity Manager (MIM). You will troubleshoot provisioning, authentication, and governance, working across security, infrastructure and engineering teams to improve stability and security.

Immediate start for a 3-month contract, onsite in Manchester/Inverness, with £500/day via umbrella.

Qualifications

• Extensive hands-on experience supporting Microsoft Identity Manager (MIM) in enterprise environments.
• Strong knowledge of IAM, IGA, identity life cycle management, provisioning, authentication, and RBAC.
• Experience integrating MIM with Active Directory, Entra ID, Okta, and BeyondTrust.

Responsibilities

• Provide L2/L3 operational support for a customised MIM environment.
• Investigate and resolve identity provisioning, synchronisation, authentication, and reconciliation issues.
• Support integrations between MIM, Active Directory, Entra ID, Okta, BeyondTrust, and other enterprise apps.
• Review and troubleshoot custom C#/.NET code used in IAM processes.
• Collaborate with security, infrastructure, application, and service management teams to resolve IAM issues.
• Produce and maintain technical documentation and runbooks.
• Contribute to automation and platform optimisation initiatives.

IDAM Engineer - 3 months Contract - £500/day via umbrella company - onsite Manchester/Inverness - SCC FLEX CONTRACT

We are seeking an experienced Senior IDAM Engineer to provide L2/L3 support for a complex enterprise Identity and Access Management (IAM) environment. The role will focus on supporting, maintaining, troubleshooting, and enhancing critical identity services, with a particular emphasis on Microsoft Identity Manager (MIM) and its integrations across the wider identity ecosystem.

The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring the reliable delivery of identity life cycle management, provisioning, authentication, and access governance services. Working closely with security, infrastructure, and engineering teams, you will support a highly customised IAM environment and contribute to the continuous improvement, stability, and security of critical identity platforms.

Your responsibilities as an IDAM Engineer:

• Provide L2/L3 operational support for a highly customised Microsoft Identity Manager (MIM) environment.
• Support and maintain MIM components, including Synchronisation Service, Metaverse, Connector Spaces, Management Agents, MIM Portal, and Workflows.
• Investigate and resolve identity provisioning, synchronisation, authentication, and reconciliation issues.
• Support integrations between MIM, Active Directory, Microsoft Entra ID, Okta, BeyondTrust, and other enterprise applications.
• Perform root cause analysis for incidents, recurring issues, and service failures.
• Support and maintain custom MIM rule extensions, workflows, management agents, and automation components.
• Review and troubleshoot custom C#/.NET code supporting IAM processes and integrations.
• Support Joiner, Mover, Leaver (JML) processes and identity life cycle management activities.
• Assist in the implementation and support of identity governance controls, access models, and provisioning standards.
• Collaborate with security, infrastructure, application, and service management teams to resolve complex IAM issues.
• Produce and maintain technical documentation, operational procedures, and support runbooks.
• Contribute to automation, service improvement, and platform optimisation initiatives.

As a suitable IDAM Engineer, you will have:

• Extensive hands-on experience supporting Microsoft Identity Manager (MIM) within enterprise environments.
• Strong understanding of Identity and Access Management (IAM), Identity Governance and Administration (IGA), identity life cycle management, provisioning, authentication, authorisation, and RBAC.
• Proven experience supporting highly customised MIM environments, including workflows, management agents, synchronisation rules, provisioning logic, and rule extensions.
• Strong knowledge of MIM Synchronisation Service, Metaverse, Connector Spaces, Management Agents, MIM Portal, and attribute flows.
• Experience troubleshooting complex provisioning, synchronisation, and identity life cycle issues.
• Strong practical experience with Active Directory, Microsoft Entra ID, Okta, and BeyondTrust.
• Experience supporting directory synchronisation, identity federation, Single Sign-On (SSO), access provisioning, and hybrid identity environments.
• Strong PowerShell Scripting and automation skills.
• Experience reviewing and troubleshooting C#/.NET code used in IAM customisations and integrations.
• Knowledge of LDAP, SQL Server, XML, REST APIs, and web services.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis skills.
• Experience working within large-scale enterprise, regulated, or secure environments.
• Desirable experience with BeyondTrust PAM, Microsoft Identity Governance, SailPoint, CyberArk, and ITIL-based support models.
