GSL Education Hull Branch is seeking an ICT Teacher to work in a specialist educational setting in York. You will deliver ICT across primary, KS3 and KS4, adapting lessons to meet a diverse range of SEN needs and following the National Curriculum.

This temporary, full-time role is available as soon as possible and runs for at least the current half term. The successful candidate will have QTS or equivalent, strong ICT knowledge across key stages, and the ability to differentiate.

Qualifications

Job Title: ICT Teacher

Salary Scale: £34,068 to £52,834 per annum (MPS/UPS)

Are you an adaptable ICT teacher with experience supporting pupils with a wide range of special educational needs? Do you have the creativity and flexibility to make ICT accessible, engaging and meaningful for learners across different ages and abilities?

GSL Education Hull Branch are currently seeking an ICT Teacher to work in a specialist educational setting in York. This is an excellent opportunity for a versatile teacher who can deliver ICT across primary, Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4, adapting lessons to meet a diverse range of SEN needs. The role is available as soon as possible and is expected to run for at least the current half term.

ICT Teacher Role:

The successful ICT Teacher will deliver accessible ICT and experiential learning across different age groups, following the National Curriculum while adapting content to suit individual learners. Alongside core ICT provision, there may be opportunities to introduce Functional Skills ICT or ICDL at KS4 where appropriate. There are no specific examination requirements, but strong curriculum knowledge and the ability to differentiate effectively are essential.

ICT Teacher Responsibilities:
  • Plan and deliver engaging ICT lessons across primary, KS3 and KS4, adapting content to different abilities.
  • Provide appropriate differentiation and individualised support for pupils with a range of SEN needs.
  • Deliver practical and experiential learning activities that encourage participation, confidence and independence.
  • Follow the National Curriculum while adapting learning objectives and resources to meet individual needs.
  • Explore suitable pathways such as Functional Skills ICT or ICDL for appropriate KS4 learners.
  • Work closely with support staff and wider school teams to promote positive engagement and monitor pupil progress.
ICT Teacher Requirements:
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
  • Strong ICT subject knowledge and experience delivering the subject across different key stages.
  • Significant experience working with pupils with SEN and an ability to adapt teaching to diverse needs.
  • Confident classroom management skills and a calm, patient and flexible approach.
  • Ability to plan engaging, practical lessons while maintaining appropriate curriculum standards.
  • An up-to-date CV covering the last 10 years, with any employment gaps explained
  • An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to apply for one.
