Job summary

Rochdale Council is seeking an ICT Manager to lead the ICT provision across its Pupil Referral Service. You will oversee three sites, ensuring a secure, reliable and innovative service that supports staff and students to reach their full potential.

The role requires extensive experience in ICT systems and infrastructure, strong MS 365 and cloud skills, network and security expertise, and the ability to manage budgets and procurement while safeguarding children.

Qualifications

• Significant experience managing ICT systems and infrastructure.
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft 365 administration and cloud technologies.
• Experience managing networks, wireless systems, servers and endpoint devices.
• Understanding of cyber security principles and best practice.
• Experience of ICT procurement and budget management.
• Excellent problem-solving and organisational skills.
• Ability to communicate technical information effectively to non-technical staff.
• Full driving licence and ability to travel between sites.
• Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the ICT function across all three sites alongside the Director of Operations.
• Maintain and support network infrastructure, servers, cloud services and telecommunications.
• Ensure cyber security measures are robust, effective and compliant.
• Manage ICT budgets, procurement and supplier relationships.
• Provide technical leadership and support to staff.
• Oversee installation, maintenance and replacement of ICT hardware and software.
• Ensure GDPR, data protection requirements and ICT-related policies are followed.
• Support safeguarding through secure management of digital systems.
• Collaborate with senior leaders to identify technology opportunities for teaching and operations.
• Manage ICT projects from planning through to implementation.
• Develop disaster recovery and business continuity procedures.
