Job summary

South Gloucestershire Council is hiring an ICT Helpdesk Technician in Yate. This temporary, full-time role provides first-line IT support to education customers, delivering friendly service and timely resolutions.

You will use Windows, M365, and other software, perform remote support, and, when needed, site visits. ConnectWise Manage experience is a plus. Strong numeracy and communication skills are essential in this busy service desk.

Qualifications

• Experience in a busy service desk environment.
• Familiarity with ConnectWise Manage is desirable.
• Proficient in using remote support tools to troubleshoot and resolve issues.
• Strong understanding of IT and numeracy skills to accurately update service desk software.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to engage effectively with customers.
• Ability to set up, adjust, and maintain technical equipment as required.

Responsibilities

• Provide first-line remote support via telephone and remote tools, following established processes.
• Handle service desk inquiries with professionalism and efficiency.
• Conduct site visits when necessary to resolve technical issues.
• Utilise your knowledge of Windows operating systems, M365 products, and relevant software applications to assist users effectively.
• Collaborate with team members to deliver outstanding service and support.
• Prioritise workloads to meet peak demands and ensure timely resolutions.
