Job summary

SBS is seeking an experienced ICT Field Engineer in the London area to provide hands-on technical support to schools and engage directly with end-users. You will resolve issues, support on-site and remotely, and contribute to network upgrades and security projects.

The role offers full-time or term-time only options, with a focus on flexible balance with school calendars and strong customer-facing communication. DBS check will be required.

Qualifications

• Experienced, hands-on technical support engineer with knowledge covering small organisations and/or school networks.
• Proven ability to deliver and manage a wide range of programmes & projects to meet customer objectives.
• Clear written and verbal communication with internal users and external vendors.
• Willingness to undertake an Enhanced DBS.

Responsibilities

• Provide on-site ICT support to schools in London, resolving issues and building trusted relationships with staff.
• Offer remote assistance via ICT Service Desk when needed.
• Troubleshoot Office 365 and Google Workspace and network infrastructure.
• Participate in ICT projects including network upgrades and security enhancements.
• Respond to incidents and implement temporary or permanent solutions for server, switch and internet failures.

We’re looking for an experienced ICT Field Engineer in the London area to join our dynamic team, providing hands‑on technical support and guidance to schools. If you thrive on solving challenges, love variety, and enjoy engaging directly with end‑users, this role is for you!

As an ICT Field Engineer, you’ll:

• Support schools on‑site daily, resolving ICT issues and ensuring seamless operations, building trusted relationships with school staff.
• Provide remote assistance via our ICT Service Desk when required.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues with Office 365 applications, Google Workspace, and network infrastructure.
• Participate in ICT projects, including network upgrades and security enhancements.
• Respond to critical incidents, implementing temporary or permanent solutions for server, switch, and internet failures.

• You will be an experienced, hands‑on, technical support engineer who has a good working knowledge covering small organisations and/or school networks.
• You will have a proven ability to work with others to deliver and manage a wide range of programmes & projects to meet our customer and third‑party objectives.
• Confident with an ability to communicate clearly, verbally and in writing particularly with internal business users and external vendors.
• Willingness to undertake an Enhanced DBS.
