Job summary

Mersey and West Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust is recruiting an enthusiastic IBD Nurse Specialist to join our gastroenterology service. You will manage a dedicated caseload, run nurse-led clinics, and provide inpatient care while closely collaborating with gastroenterologists and other nurse specialists.

You will develop and implement clinical management plans, undertake independent prescribing, monitor therapies and deliver patient education to improve quality of life and disease

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse with ongoing professional development.
• Specialist qualification or post-registration training in IBD/gastroenterology.
• Experience in advanced clinical assessment and care planning.

Responsibilities

• Provide specialist nursing care within multidisciplinary team.
• Manage IBD patient caseload including clinics and in-patient care.
• Develop and evaluate complex care pathways and protocols.
• Independent prescribing and review of management plans.
• Deliver education and psychological support to patients and carers.
• Lead and participate in governance, audits and research initiatives.
• Coordinate with community and hospital teams for seamless care.
