Job summary

Mersey and West Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust invites applications for an IBD Nurse Specialist. The post holder will manage a caseload of patients with inflammatory bowel disease, run nurse-led clinics and handle in-patient caseloads with close liaison to community services.

The role includes independent prescribing, development of management plans, monitoring therapy and promoting adherence, patient education and psychological support within a multidisciplinary team.

Qualifications

• Experience in managing patients with inflammatory bowel disease.
• NHS band 6 or higher experience.
• Autonomous working within a multidisciplinary team and ability to prescribe.

Responsibilities

• Run nurse-led clinics for IBD patients and case manage in-patients.
• Collaborate with gastroenterologists and specialist nurses.
• Support patient education, monitoring and drug therapy management.
